Foundations of Palliative Care

Join the learning community of the Harvard Medical School Center for Palliative Care forFoundations of Palliative Care (https://learn.hms.harvard.edu/programs/foundations-palliative-care), a new course that will be offered on January 12-13, 2026 (live virtual via Zoom). 

The course has been designed by and is led by an interprofessional team of two physicians, three social workers, and a nurse practitioner from across the Harvard Medical School network.  It is intended for palliative care clinicians in adult and pediatric care to gain primary palliative care knowledge and skills.  Topics of focus include serious illness communication, whole person assessment, pain and symptom management, and grief and bereavement.

We strongly encourage palliative care teams to participate together and to benefit from having a shared experience and developing a common language.  Group discounts are available.
